NEWS RELEASE CHART INDUSTRIES AWARDED LARGE VACUUM INSULATED PIPE ORDER FOR FREEPORT LNG PROJECT Garfield Heights, OH – June 3, 2005 – Chart Industries, Inc. (OTC: CIDI.OB) Energy and Chemicals group received a multimillion dollar order from TZS, a joint venture between Technip USA Corporation, Zachry Construction Corporation and Saipem Inc., for the design, fabrication and commissioning of 14,000 feet of large bore Vacuum Insulated Pipe (VIP) for the transport of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Chart’s VIP will provide large bore stainless piping for the LNG transfer and vapor return lines at the new Freeport LNG Development, L.P. Quintana Island Receiving Terminal in Freeport, Texas. Chart is providing the world’s first commercial application of buried, large bore, double-containment Vacuum Insulated Piping (VIP) LNG Transfer Lines. The LNG transfer lines will consist of a 26 inch x 32 inch stainless steel, pipe in pipe system. Both inner and outer pipes are designed for full system pressures. Phase I of the Quintana Island LNG Receiving Terminal will have a capacity of 1.5 BCF/day and is expected to start production in early 2008.
