CHART ANNOUNCES BASE PRICE AND SURCHARGE INCREASES ON BULK STORAGE & PACKAGED GAS EQUIPMENT

Garfield Heights, OH – June 1, 2006 – Chart Industries, Inc. Distribution and Storage Group ("Chart D&S") announces increases to its surcharge and base price schedule for bulk cryogenic storage tanks, cryogenic liquid cylinders, MicroBulk products, beverage CO2 equipment and liquid helium dewars. Base prices and surcharges are jointly increasing effective for orders received after July 1, 2006.

Tom Carey, President of Chart D&S, stated, "Since our last press release in early April, the price of raw nickel has escalated significantly upward to historically high levels. Concurrently, base pricing and total costs for stainless and alloy steels used to construct our cryogenic equipment have increased significantly. Copper and its alloys as well as other raw materials and their related freight costs have also increased this year. As a result, Chart D&S is increasing its total pricing in recognition of the time phased effect of these increases on our finished product costs. Base prices and surcharges will increase effective for orders received after July 1, 2006. The base price increase will average 5% for bulk gas products and 3% for packaged gas products. The new surcharge and price schedules are available on the Chart Website at www.chart-ind.com."
